Digital File – Instant Download
Tired of fighting with solo cups, and other methods of rigging parts to be painted? These paint stick holders were inspired by alligator clips used to hold small model parts: "Why not make a big holder, for big parts?"
With a handful of paint sticks available, an idea was born. These modular adapters are designed to fit a range of paint sticks and securely hold the part while painting.

Recommended Print settings
- Material: PETG
- Layer height: 0.2 mm

For increased weight in the base units, you can increase the infill, or pause the print and fill the model with sand or other material.
These settings balance rigidity and speed for holders that resist heat and solvent exposure during painting.
How to use
- Insert a paint stick or clip
-
- Slide the stick into a slot or place an alligator clip into a hole.
- Secure the work piece
-
- Use painter’s tape, masking tape, or similar to fasten your model/part to the stick or clip so it stays put while spraying, airbrushing, or drying.
- Arrange as needed
-
- Use a single holder for quick jobs.
- Line up row holders for multiple parts.
- Use the full board for organizing larger projects or as a wider base for large objects.
Safety warning — tipping hazard
The paint stick can place the part high above the center of gravity. If bumped they can tip over. If multiple are placed near each other, this can cause an unfortunate domino effect. Keep adequate spacing, and avoid bumping the work surface.
