Din Djarin's costume uses many techniques and several leather types. Pouches, boot covers, straps, and keepers all use slightly different thicknesses and construction methods. That variety makes it a perfect place to get exposed to all kinds of methods.

I picked up a manual leather cobbler stitching machine and taught myself to stitch. Out of the box these machines can be rough. I tore mine down, cleaned it, polished the wear points, and tuned the tension. After a little elbow grease it now lays a consistent stitch. I kept notes and will post a full teardown and setup guide so you can repeat it.
I am iterating with 3D printed templates. They work like acrylic templates but are faster to refine. Print, test, adjust, reprint. Once the fit and assembly feel right I will publish each template set in two formats:
- Printable PDFs
- STL templates for those who like rigid guides
First pattern set in progress: Utility pouches! They are the easiest and I've found a few good samples that are close to the screen, but need some adjustments.
This STL is a rigid cutting template for a small box pouch pattern. The light blue piece forms the outer body with a rounded top, bottom panel, and side wings that fold up to create the box shape. The grey insert is a strap and flap assembly with stitch guide marks around the flap perimeter and a hinge line where it folds back. The narrow dark blue strap shows a keeper slot for the closure. Shallow channels indicate fold locations so you can score or mark them on leather before forming. The light rectangular block represents the finished cavity and helps you visualize fit while test folding, and can be used to keep the pouch shape while wearing them.
