Whistling Birds Gauntlet — Install
Install the Whistling Birds dart module into a gauntlet: fit check, wiring harness, gearbox, dart tips, and final install. Works with Chamanleon FX, Galactic Armory, and Great Ape gauntlets at 100% scale or larger.
CHARACTER BUILD 01 — THE MANDALORIAN
Guides and parts for the full Din Djarin costume.
Din Djarin is the Mandalorian from the series of the same name. The full costume is a helmet, chest and shoulder plates, gauntlets, thigh and knee armor, a cape, and a flight suit underneath — plus the working props: the Whistling Birds darts and the MandoPuter forearm display. I print the armor in PETG from Chamanleon FX’s files and I’m writing up each piece as I finish it, in the order listed below.
Each part of the costume gets its own guide, in roughly the order I expect to write them. Where we sell the matching kit or part, it’s linked on the row.
Install the Whistling Birds dart module into a gauntlet: fit check, wiring harness, gearbox, dart tips, and final install. Works with Chamanleon FX, Galactic Armory, and Great Ape gauntlets at 100% scale or larger.
Set up and operate the MandoPuter display on the left forearm: mounting, power, and the on-screen sequences.
Sizing the helmet before you order (Small to XL, 95–110% scale) and padding the inside so it sits level and doesn’t rock.
The small charge cylinders on the belt: printing, finishing, and mounting them so they stay put through a convention day.
The chest, shoulder, back, thigh, and knee plates: what’s in the full kit, strapping options, and the order I fit them in.
The cape and flight suit aren’t printed parts, so there’s no kit for this one. It will cover what I use and where I got it.
If you plan to troop with a costume club, the club’s current requirements are the standard, not this site. The 501st Legion documents each approved costume in a CRL (Costume Reference Library); the Mandalorian Mercs maintain their own application standards for custom kits. Requirements change, so check the club’s current version before you build to spec.
Official application standards. The Mercs approve custom Mandalorian kits, including original designs built on these armor files.
Din Djarin CRL. Covers the screen-accurate version of the costume.
Our raw prints are a starting point for either path — approval depends on your finishing work and the club’s review, and we don’t certify kits.
Every on-screen appearance of the Whistling Birds, with timestamps.
Each prop guide includes its own screen research. The Whistling Birds page is the deepest one so far.

We print licensed files. If you print at home, buy the files from the designers.
How we take a raw print to a bare-metal finish: smoothing away the print lines, paint, and two paths to chrome.
A cheap recirculating pond-pump setup for wet sanding without the dust.
These apply to any character’s armor, not just this build. The full set is on the skills blog.
